In order to prevent crimping, I went my local beauty supply store and bought some "R" shaped metal pin style clips. I use those, then put the heated clips over that. Works like a dream and stays tightly in my hair. I'm happy this doesn't have an on/off switch as I like to put my rollers on a timer so they're piping hot when I get up in the morning. I too would appreciate some EXTRA LARGE rollers. One more thing, I figured that the clips were made of some sort of heat resistant plastic so in order to make them hotter, I clipped one right on the metal bar. BAD IDEA! It melted. I don't remember reading anything saying that they couldn't be clipped to it so now I'm short one clip. ;(

The only thing these rollers did to my hair was make it look silly and wavy. I have very thick and fine hair, even though it's not very long, it still took more than 2 times through all the rollers before they went through all of my hair. My curling iron and straightener do a much better job, as well as mousse and my hands.

I brought this a week ago and it took me a couple of tries to get the handle of rolling my hair. After a couple of tries I love these rollers. I have thin hair and it gave me a lot of body.
The only negative is that I would have loved a on and off switch. Other than that I would recommend this product and purchase this as a gift.

My hair is extremely fine and long and has a hard time holding curls. My friend recommended these rollers because she had a good experience with them. I wasn't as fortunate. The clips don't hold the rollers firmly enough and with any movement, the rollers begin to fall out. Talk about frustrating! I had such high hopes but I guess they are only meant to work well with thicker hair.

This is one of the best hair tool that I've ever bought. It heats up fast and gives a tight and long lasting curls. the only reason I gave it 4 stars is that the clips leaves a mark in your hair and it does not have an on/off switch.

I must say I am very, very pleased with these rollers. They curl my hair in minutes. The heat is very warm and this adds well to the quickness of the curl. All I have to do is set my hair, wait a few minutes, take them out and I am out the door. These rollers make my hair beautiful and I constantly receive compliments. Love It!!!

I love this unit. I have used heated roller units for over 30 years and this unit is by far the best in results and value. The unit heats up quickly, the hair catches and holds on the rollers, and the results are wonderful. I do heat up the unit longer than recommended - about 10 minutes while I drink a cup of coffee. It takes about 3 minutes to roll all my hair and I have very straight, fine hair of medium length.
Fast with great results !.

Answer:
It's probably best right away, but sometimes I do the next day and it doesn't look as good, but it's still nice. However, I'd be weary of purchasing Remington hair curlers. I was disappointed in purchasing this product since it broke a few months after I purchased. I'd shop around. Curlers are great but you shouldn't have to buy them twice a year. Find a product that lasts.

Answer:
Hello Mandy. That would depend entirely on your hair. If your hair is extremely oily, you wouldn't want to wash it one day and set it the next. Oily hair won't curl as well, and may leave a residue on the velvet surface of the rollers. Clean hair that is dry is best for setting.

Thank you for your message. Our rollers are only tested on freshly cleaned and dried hair. However, with everyone's hair type being different we would recommend using your best judgement when using the rollers. This may take a few tries to determine the best results. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

No, this is even better. This uses automatic heat from plugging it into a wall outlet. The rollers heat up in 90 seconds exactly. They are very warm, but not to the point of burning your fingers. Trust me you won't ever have to use a curling iron again. Your hair will turn out great!

Answer:
I have never had crimp marks. Start with the roller at the end of the hair.
Lay the end of the hair smoothly against the roller.
Roll the roller under down the hair to the root.

Answer:
Generally, you need to take extra care smoothing the hair around the roller, ensuring its smooth whe the hair touches the roller. Alternatively, you can use end papers, a giant pain, but they work. If you're using pin style fasteners, try the clamp style.

Answer:
Thank you for your message. When heated with the clip on the rollers, neither the roller nor clip should not reach temperatures above 250oF and should be around 230oF on average. The temperature of the rollers heated without the clip will be slightly lower as the clip helps to retain heat longer.

How exactly does this set work (if it doesn't use steam)?

I was wondering exactly how this setter works. I will probably sound like a total idiot, but I've never really used heat rollers before. I've only had my hands on my mom's ancient rollers a couple of times, and hers takes water and makes steam. I've been thinking about buying this set because I've been burned many times with my mom's set.I will definitely purchase these rollers if I get a decent answer. Thank you! :)

Answer:
If you can put regular rollers in your hair, you can use this. It is the same concept. The only difference is, this is preheated (ceramic/pearl tourmaline technology) and all you need to do is to roll them on as you would a regular roller and use the clips to set them in place.

P.S. If you leave it on too long, it might get a little hot but its not enough to prohibit use.
