I purchased this for my 16 year-old. I haven't used this flat iron but she raves about it. This is the 4th flat iron i've bought her in a year and FINALLY I found one she likes. It acutally holds up to this Alabama humidity. We are very pleased.

I've owned two of these remington straighteners and they both burned out within 6 months. They are amazing straighteners, but do not last long at all! If you can afford to replace your hair straightener twice a year, then I would definitely recommend this product.

I bought this iron because of the keratin in it, and because Remington has a good reputation and their products hold true to what they claim. I recently had a keratin treatment done, and to help with the upkeep have been investing in sulfate-free and sodium chloride-free shampoos, conditioners, products with keratin, etc. Who would have thought that they would invent a flat iron with keratin infused plates? When I saw this, I had to buy it! I had originally ordered a different brand for about $10 less than this one (mind you, it was an iron that normally runs over a hundred dollars, so it was definitely a bargain), but when I saw this in my local Target, I canceled my online order and made this purchase instead. This flat iron may not be for you if your hair can't take a lot of protein, as excessive amounts can dry out the hair (I'm not saying this will dry out your hair but using too many protein-based products is essentially what dries it out). Now, in terms of performance, this is amazing. I usually don't like to go past the 375 degree setting on flat irons strictly because my hair doesn't do well with heat in general, but usually end up having to do so to maintain any sort of control over my hair, amd with this one I can put it on any low setting and my hair comes out silky amd gorgeous and feeling better each time. I love that it has a temperature sensor strip to readjust if my hair gets over-exposed to the heat, amd I love that despite the strip, my hair still glides through smoothly as if the sensor strip wasn't there. Also, I don't understand the one star review on this thing, because it's amazing! Maybe she received a fake or just happened to receive a faulty one...?

I just bought this hair straightner and I LOVE IT!!!! I was a CHI user and this one competes perfectly well with the CHI. It heats really fast, my hair looks shiny and soft, and I love that it turns off automatically after 1 hour.

I bought two of these straighteners and neither of them worked. The "30 second turbo" turned into 30 minutes trying to get up to 375 without it so much as getting warm. Waste of money, waste of time.

I've had mine for about a week, and only once have I gotten it to work. I'd return it to get the $50 I waisted on this product, but stupidly enough I threw away the receipt. Just as Emma said, it takes about 30 minutes to finally get it working, but about after 10, I'm late for work and have long since given up.

so i just recently had a keratin treatment done to my hair on saturday. It is my third day and i decied to restraighten my hair. i normally have very thick wavy hair, however with the treatment it was already straight i just wanted to restraighten cause i kind of sweated out my hair. i also bought a keratin 4 day straight flat iron spray to go with it. (i am a little addicted to keratin products. by the way this is the first time i have used it. when i first applyed both products to my hair OMG. IT LOOKS BETTER THEN THE FIRST DAY OUT OF THE SALON!!!!!! i used it on the highest heat and sprayed my renpure brazillian flat iron spray (if anyone wanted to know whtat i used) and straighted. it looks amazing. i am going ot buy more keratin hair products such as the brush and blow dryer to compelet my keratin collection. i already have cibu shampoo called hi-ya which is really good for keratin treated hair. also renpure is a very good organic keratin hair treatment as well. i would recommend this product to everyone!

Emma, I think you are talking about a differant straightner all togeather. Mine goes to 450 in 5 seconds and there is not a turbo selection any where on it.It only has a button for the the Kearatin infusion and three differant tempeture selctions, I thingk you need to check your models or you power source.

HEAT SENSOR
What is the revolutionary Heat Sensor? The heat sensor is cutting edge technology embedded into the top plate of the straightener that continually monitors the condition of the hair and takes action when hair is becoming at greater risk for damage.

How does the Heat Sensor work? It continually detects moisture level in the hair and optimizes the temperature at all times according to the hair’s condition. The sophisticated technology only steps in when moisture level is too low and the hair is at increased risk of splitting and damage. The straightener will constantly optimize the temperature as you style to reduce damage while still providing the best styling results.

Do you see the temperature change on the digital display? No, the display will show the selected temperature at all times, however, when the sensor is turned on an icon on the display will blink to inform the user that the sensor is active.

What happens once the sensor has reduced the temperature?
The sensor will continually monitor the moisture in your hair and as soon as it detects enough moisture it will return to the set temperature.

Ceramic has to do with heat distribution. Ionic has to do with frizz control. Ceramic distributes the heat more evenly than gold or regular metal plates, resulting in fewer hot spots (if any at all) and less damage to the hair follicle altogether. Ionic products are often associated with ceramic products because the two work better together. Products that use ion technology use negative ions to help control and reduce frizz while smoothing the hair. If you can find ceramic tourmaline flat irons, blow dryers, etc., then that's even better, or anything that uses infrared heat.
