Spiral curls that really hold! I love wearing my hair in spiral curls, but didn't want to pay $100 for the clipless curling wands they sell in the mall kiosks. I bought this wand and kept the receipt, thinking it probably wasn't nearly as good as the one I borrowed from my friend (who did pay $$$ from the mall kiosk). I think it works great and I have never gotten so many compliments on my hair. I can curl my hair and it lasts all day. I can sleep on it, brush it out for looser waves the next day, and it still stays all day! I have never found a curling wand that holds curls so well. I do use the TREsemme heat protection/hold spray prior to curling b/c this goes up to 410 degrees. The only drawback to this wand (which really is just a learning curve) is the hair won't stay on the larger part of the barrel and shifts to the bottom if you are holding the hair out and/or down (resulting in a smaller/tighter spiral)...but if you hold the wand up, with the larger barrel closest to your head, and load the hair that way, it will stay to the larger part of the barrel and still results in a perfect spiral when you drop it down. Also, if you read the directions, it immediately tells you that the middle button (also used for lowering the temperature) *when held for 3 seconds* locks the current temperature. I have never had it change while curling my hair when it's in the locked position. This model is called the slim wand...so this will not provide large spirals. If medium to small spirals are what you are looking for...look no further. March 28, 2013
Best curling product ever!!! I have bought several curling irons and many products but no matter what I do my hair will not hold a curl for longer than 1 hour or so before its back to being super straight. First time I used this I was just playing wanting to see if I liked it I had no product in my hair at all I did not put any hairspray in when I was done and it held my curls all day it was amazing! I'm in love and will recommend this to everyone. I also love how fast it was, I have med to thick hair and it is a little bit longer than shoulder length and it only took like 10-15 mins to do my whole head. March 22, 2013
Awesome! Bought this a few days ago and I have used it a couple times. I really am impressed with this product. Usually my hair will not hold a curl for very long, so my expectations were very little and I held on to my reciept just in case. The first day, I curled a lot of smaller sections of hair for tighter curls and to my surprise, it actually held even with me running around all day at work. The second time I decide to use larger sections of hair for looser curls and they lasted all day as well. So I am very pleased with this product and I have already recommended it to another friend. Of course you do have to use some type styling product after you curl but that is to be expected. February 23, 2013

Thank you for your inquiry. They are both GREAT models but have different additives, however both are designed to enhance smoothness in the plate. The features on the silk have been upgraded, such as the buttons are more consumer friendly.

We recommend the new Silk Ceramic model which is replacing the Pearl the ceramic barrel quality of both is equal but the Silk has improved design and display.

which curling wand

Hi i have shoulder length thick hair and my hairdressor used the Muk wand and it looked great. She said the Remington was also good but now i see there are heaps of options! SHe used the larger barrell so which one would you suggest?

Thank you for your inquiry. The size of the barrel will determine which types of curls you will achieve. For more body and bouncier curls, we would suggest the larger barrel but for a tighter more pronounced curl, you would want to go with the smaller barrel.
