Rated 1 out of 5 by Remington ilight pro+ 6500 i invested in this product thinking i will get rid of going to salon as it was difficult for me to manage an appointment because of kids. Although the product claims awesome results after one treatment, mine is not showing any improvement even after 4 treatments. My first go with this product was amazing, i was super excited and used it all over legs n arms, keept changing light intensity according to my comfort level as per the instructions. Noticed some buring smell which i ignored that day. Waited for 2 weeks before my second go, and the nightmare started. I was not able to tolerate the first level of light intensity. Iglt had kind of burned me inside or something. I did only my legs and it was pretty uncomfortable. Then i spaced it with 3 weeks gap to do legs n arms And it was uncomfortable again. Bad smell too. And there was something brown/ black thing appearing on the mirror which i noticed first time too but it was increasing. The mirror or lens was in pretty bad shape uptil now. Tried to wipe it off but it was not cleaning, mild washing didnt help either. I am pretty disappointed. It has worked only in patches as shown in the photo. January 14, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by It didn't ever function properly from new I purchased this item (i-Light pro IPL6000F) as a surprise gift for my wife around a year ago from a Groupon advert. However, she did not use it at all. I eventually opened the packaging and tried it on myself, but there was a beeping noise upon first use - the troubleshooting guide indicates that the bulb should be replaced? It is hard to understand how that can be so, as it has never been used. So far this item has been a complete waste of money and I am reluctant to spend even more to see if a new bulb allows the unit to function - and it is probably too late to return under any warranty. Rated 1 out of 5 by Don't buy it! There is no assistance for itens that stop working!! I bought a Remington i-Light Pro at the end of last year, when I was working in the USA. I came back to Brazil and the machine was working pretty well. Last month, all of a sudden, the machine stopped working, it was not shooting the laser light anymore. I even bought a new bulb cartridge to see if that was the problem, but it wasn’t, because the machine is still not working. I called your assistance and the attendant said that I have to change a small part of the machine called “Nose Cone”. This item costs 50 dollars, and the machine costs 250 dollars. I don’t think I am the one who needs to buy this item. If it’s not working anymore, you should repair it, it’s your responsibility. Why would someone buy a machine that you have to change an item that costs 50 dollars??? It doesn’t make any sense. Why do you have the warranty for? The machine is on the USA again, but for a short period of time. I hope I can count on you to fix it out. July 14, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by It is working- after a while I bought this product a year ago and I used it once a month. (Now I use it more often because it is summer- no, I do not sunbathe because my skin should not get tanned if I want to achieve an effective hair-loss). I have to admit my hair did not fall out (:D), as I first anticipated, but the quantity has decreased and there are places where it does not grow back. It is a little painful at the bikini area or at the knees where bones are near but it is manageable. SO I can recommend it. June 1, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Simply AMAZING (for me) I am 50 years old and I have suffered from severe rash on my armpits and bikini area for as long as I can remember. So horrible that I would draw blood from scratching so hard, even though I really tried not to. I tried every over the counter remedy I could get and even tried waxing. There was no relief. It got to the point of me only shaving in the summer months (my husband, thankfully, was very understanding because he saw the pain shaving caused me). I considered laser hair removal and was sticker shocked at what it would cost me with no guarantee, only a reduction in hair. After much research and hearing the good, bad and the ugly, I found this product at a very reasonable price and purchased it. Following the instructions, I have finished the first three treatments. I did the first treatment on level one, the second on level three, and the third on level five (not sure why I choose that way other than I didn't want it to be too painful). I am absolutely amazed by the hair loss. This product does not guarantee complete hair loss, and I'm sure it works better on some than others, but if you have a compatible skin/hair type to the product, I encourage you to give this product a try, especially if you suffer from severe razor burn/rash as I do. If it doesn't work for you, then unfortunately you are used to the rash, if it does relieve you as it has me, you will simply be amazed! I wish this product would work as well for everyone and hopefully one day they will come out with a product that will. Technology is awesome. Thank you Remington for a reasonably priced product that has almost completely taken away my suffering of razor burn! I wish I had found it sooner! April 21, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not fully Instruction Dear Team Remington, i hope this email will find you well. i'm living at dDubai UAE, i buy this product because they said this product is nice. i already use this product for 1 week, bu i saw my hair at underarm is starting to grow. my question is?! is that necessarry to shave my underarm everytime i do my session? please let me know. im awaiting your response. because when i buy this product i expected that there is a book for the complete details instruction... April 21, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by This product will give you professional results! I had Intense pulsed light hair removal done 15 years ago. The area I wanted to lose the hair was about 70% hair free at the conclusion of my treatments. The treatments weren't cheap, like four dollar figures not cheap. I bought the I-Light pro about 2 months ago. It works identical to the machine i received treatments from 15 years ago. When the I-Light Pro zaps a hair the sensation is identical to that of the treatements I got 15 years ago by a professional. This machine is safe and effective and it is a whole lot cheaper to buy than going to a professional for the same results. April 15, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Costco Remington i-Light Pro Premier I got my laser as a Christmas present (2014). I have used it as directed, every two weeks for the first 3 times, in my bikini line. I didn't see good results so I used it every 2 weeks for a total of 3 more sessions and the hair was almost all gone, or so I thought, after 2 1/2 weeks the hair came back, thinner but almost everywhere, so I just started again. I decided to start with my arms (after the 4th bikini treatment) an the cartridge had to be replaced half way on my second treatment. I ordered a new one but that one only lasted to both my arms and lower legs and only a small area on one of my thighs (I'm a petite woman, 5.3 inches and 109 lb). I'm disapointed with the small amount of pulses you get from the cartridge, specially if you have to use the machine more than three consecutive sessions and the results don't last even for a month! I am fair skin and have very dark hair, at a professional salon where I had my underarms treated, three treatments were enough to have no hairs for seven years so far! I will give the machine a try for the reminding two sesions on my legs and see what happens after, but I'm not very optimistic! I do recommend the machine if you have the time to treat yourself every two weeks but not if you think that you will go for six months without hair as advertised. March 28, 2015

Tria costs $395 but the bulb last 90,000 pulses an then you have to buy a new one.
Yours costs $249 plus the equivalent of 60 cartridges ($1,499.40). which is like buying 60 cartridges ($24.99 each).

So why do I want to buy yours instead of theirs? How much area does yours cover at one time?

Answer:
The i-LIGHT Pro was meticulously designed to give consumers access to Professional IPL technology and results at the most affordable entry price point. Everyone has different hair removal needs and, by offering 1500 flash replaceable cartridges, Remington lets consumers only buy what they need rather than paying for flashes they may not need. So, one consumer who only wants to treat her armpits or bikini line may only need one cartridge – while another consumer who wants to treat her full legs and stomach may require multiple cartridges over a few years.

Also, the i-LIGHT Pro is 1 of 2 IPL devices cleared by the FDA for over the counter use. The other device’s bulb only lasts 750 flashes so the i-LIGHT PRO offers 2X the number of flashes. Perhaps the product which you are using for comparison is not cleared by the FDA.

Answer:
IPL works best on light fair skin and dark hair due to the contrast of colours as the IPL technology targets pigments.
Therefore it is NOT SAFE to use on tattoos as there are alot of pigments under the skin.
It can cause burn, pain and may even lighten the colour of your tattoo.

Frequency of use on same body part?

On pg. 5 of the user's manual (small booklet supplied with the unit), it makes the following statements:

1) "That's why we recommend using the i-Light Pro system three times in the first month to hit every active hair."
2) "The first 3 sessions with the eiLight Pro IPL system should be 2 weeks apart."
3) "Do NOT treat the same body part more often than every 2 weeks."

I must be misunderstanding something here - but it appears the above statements are contradictory. The first statement says to use it on the same body part 3 times within a month (every 10 days); the second statement changes that advise by stating every 14 days (2 weeks apart); the third statement agrees with the second.

So what's the real answer here - how long should one go before treating the same area? Thanks.

The answer the staff gave in correct, it's just confusing at first. For example if you do the first session on the 1st of the month, then wait two weeks to the 15th and do the second session, then wait two weeks to the 29th for the third session, you will have done 3 sessions in one month.

Thank you for your message. I see how this may appear confusing. The answer is that you should use the i-Light Pro every 2 weeks for the first three sessions. So, you would use three times within 4 weeks – use, wait two weeks then use again, wait another two weeks and use again.

If you have a Smartphone you may like to download the iLight Pro app (it’s free) to keep track of your treatments.

Eye protection is not required, if the i-Light Pro is used as directed on body hair below the neck. I-Light Pro should NOT be used on the face, head, ears, or neck, on or around the eyes, eyebrows or eyelashes. Doing so can cause serious and permanent eye injury.

i-Light Pro features contact sensors which help ensure unintentional flashing when the device is not in full contact with the skin.

Answer:
First, know that this product is not FDA approved for the face and neck. It is imperative that it not be used around the eye. That said, I have seen reports of positive results on the face on this site. I can tell you from personal experience that I have very positive results with the same situation that you describe. Just use a lower setting; I do not go above the second setting personally in that area. It stings and is pretty snappy on that area, however it is very effective. Cover your eyes and do not go around the eyes ever.

Answer:
Both men and women can use i-Light Pro to remove unwanted hair below the neck. i-Light Pro is intended for use by individuals with light to medium skin colors, including white, ivory, tan, beige, and light brown only. Refer to the Skin Tone Chart on the packaging or in your Use & Care Guide to determine if your skin tone is suitable for use with the i-Light Pro.

i-Light Pro is also intended for use on naturally black or brown hair. Do not use i-Light Pro on white or gray hair because it will not work. IPL is less effective on lighter colors, such as blond or red hair.

No. i-Light Pro should NOT be used on the face, head, ears or neck. These areas may have darker skin and using the i-Light Pro there could cause skin swelling, temporary blisters, or could change the color of your skin. I-Light Pro should NEVER be used on or around the eyes, eyebrows or eyelashes. Doing so can cause serious and permanent eye injury.

i light vs diode laser

i light is not a laser- certain home laser hair removal companies advertise permanent hair removal, whereas i light claims to make one free for 6 months. Still for many reasons i am inclined to buy the i light system. I just need to confirm that with time, if not permanent hair removal than that the system does reduce hair significant with time. That is, every 6 months i will NOT be as i was in the beginning- that there will be some change. Is that possible with i light.
thanks

Answer:
FDA indicates that the laser can only advertise permanent reduction, not permanent removal. I would be wary of anyone advertising permanent results. Both methods require time. I have had laser treatments and find the iLight to be very comparable, much more convenient, and very affordable. I am completely satisfied and I've tried both ways now. I hope that helps.

Answer:
When used as directed, i-Light Pro IPL system helps remove unwanted hair without the need for daily shaving, waxing, or plucking. In a clinical study, after just three treatments, participants show an average of 47.8% less hair 6-months after last treatment. Actual results vary from person to person, depend on the body area being treated, and whether instructions were followed correctly.
