WHAT IS IPL

Break Free From Your Razor

Ready for LONG lasting* hair removal without the daily hassle of a razor? The i-LIGHT Pro IPL system is a revolutionary light-based device designed for the removal of unwanted body hair at home.Using the same similar Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology that professional dermatologists use, you can now get similar professional-quality results in the privacy and comfort of your own home.

Formerly only available in doctors' offices, At-Home IPL was quickly became the fastest growing hair removal segment in Europe last year. Driving that growth was the Remington i-LIGHT Pro, which quickly became the #1 at-home IPL device in Continental Europe despite only being introduced in late 2009*.

Unlike most many at-home hair removal meth¬ods, the i-LIGHT Pro IPL system doesn't cut or pull out hair, but instead works below the skin's surface to disable active hairs and help prevent new ones from growing.

You'll start to see results within a few weeks after your initial treatment and results will improve over time!

How IPL Works

How does the i-LIGHT Pro work?

Laser and IPL devices have been clinically-tested and proven in dermatologist's offices for over 15 years, and both work on the principle of Selective Photothermolysis.

A special pulse of light energy is applied to the skin by the device.

The light is absorbed by melanin within the hair shaft and follicle, converting it to heat.

The heat disables hair's growth mechanism and within a few weeks unwanted hairs in the treatment area fall out.

Every hair on the body goes through a continuous growth cycle, from active to resting phases. Light-based treatments only affect hairs in the active phase, which can account for up to 90% of hair follicles.

Therefore it is recommended to use the i-LIGHT Pro system every 2 weeks for the first 3 sessions to ensure you treat every active hair. After that, use the i-LIGHT Pro system as needed for any missed hairs or hairs that have recently become active.

Light-based treatments are not for everyone. The light energy is intended to target dark coloring in body hair, so if your skin in the treatment area is dark, too much of the light energy may be absorbed by your skin. That is why the light-based technologies should only be used on lighter-colored skin and work best on naturally dark hair. To determine if your skin and hair color are suitable for the i-LIGHT Pro refer to the FAQs section.

How IPL Work Image

*Individual results will vary. In clinical testing, on average, participants had 47.8% fewer hairs six months after just three treatments, similar to results observed from professional hair removal systems.

Laser vs. IPL

• Both IPL and Laser technology work on the principle of Selective Photothermolysis to target melanin in hair.

• However, Lasers use a single wavelength while IPLs emit a broad spectrum of light which is then specially filtered to block unwanted UV rays and allow certain wavelengths to target hairs through the skin.

• IPL devices tend to cover larger treatment areas for faster treatment, and typically cost less.

Test skin in intended treatment area with the Skin Tone sensor before using.

The i-LIGHT Pro should be used every 2 weeks for the first 3 sessions.

Then, use the i-LIGHT Pro system when you start to see hair re-growth in the treated area.

Do NOT treat the same body part more often than every 2 weeks.

Treat in a grid-like pattern, making sure to cover all hairs in the treatment area. Do NOT treat same area of skin with multiple flashes during the same session.

After a hair follicle is treated, it can take a few weeks for the hair to fall out.

•On tattoos, dark brown or black spots. Refer to your Use & Care Guide for complete list of warnings and areas not to treat.
