F4790 Pivot and Flex Dual Foil Shaver & Replacement Kit 3.1 5 53 53
I hope this one continue on The very best razor I have ever purchase. I hope I will be able to purchase this item in the future. June 6, 2013
Remington Quality always shines through Great shave. Ease of cleaning by rinsing with water a plus. I'm not sure that the pivot feature enhances the shave, but it works well. May 8, 2013
hard to find its about the only razor i can find that has a slide up cutter that will cut longer hairs on your face anymore . most others have a pop out that only will trim sideburns, etc. March 26, 2013
Not a comfortable shave. I've only had this shaver for less than a month but am disappointed with the discomfort I experience while using it. I am very, very saddened that I'm unable to purchase replacement kits for my Remington Micro Screen II DA 107 shaver. I'm told that you have changed the design of the head which makes my reliable shaver useless. The F4790 Pivot and Flex Dual Foil Shaver gives a close shave but is much heavier (I understand that this is because of the battery) and the ends of the head that holds the screen, stick out past the screens a lot making it feel like I'm being scraped by these protruding edges. All I wanted was to have a corded shaver that was as close and comfortable as my old reliable DA 107. If I were able to purchase the proper replacement kits for this shaver, I would be a very happy man. Even if I could purchase a new replacement head for my DA 107 that would allow me to utilize the replacement kits for the "new" DA 107 head so that I could still use my old shaver, that would also make me happy. Sorry for this bad review but I would not recommend this shaver to anyone who asked me my opinion only because of my preferences. March 14, 2013
Older Versions work better I purchased this item to replace a 3 yr old MS2-390 on recommendation of a Remington sales tech. Despite that the older shaver is on its' way out, it still shaves better (closer) than the new F4790. The trimmer is also better on the older one. The pivoting head on the F4790 serves no purpose whatsoever. The stationary one works better. February 18, 2013
Great Shaver I love the shaver. It has a strong motor and a battery that lasts. The beard trimmer is durable and effective. A week after I got it, one of the foils did come out of its sheetmetal anchor in the head, but that's a very rare event that Remington quicky took care of. Thanks Remington for taking care of me. I appreciate you. February 17, 2013
Waste of money! This electric razor is garbage. It is so loud. Sounds like a mini lawn mower. Wakes up the whole house and neighbors. As far as actually doing its job....Its decent. I always have to go over my face multiple times. It always misses hairs, or pulls them. I would not reccomend this razor to anyone! Do not waste your money. February 16, 2013
Great product for the price. It works well. The only problem is the cost of replacement screens and blades. February 1, 2013

Accessories for F-series electric razor

Do the F-series electric razor have a clip on attachment? I don't like the super close shave. Is there an attachment to create more of a stubble look?

Is it acceptable to use a pre shave liquid?

Husband has a heavy beard and has used shaver 2 to 3 times since the purchase. It stopped in the shaving process. I turned it back on and it still lit up green. It worked for a bit and shut off again. I have put it on to charge. Hope this is not harmful but again the dry beard is not working well. Thank you.

Answer:
Try doing the first pass with the trimmer full out. I would expect a powder type pre-shave to work better than a liquid.

Answer:
Using it in the shower is not recommended. Even though you can clean this razor's cutting head by rinsing it under running water, the instructions caution against soaking the razor...you could hardly avoid getting it throughly wet in the shower, so I'd avoid doing that.

I strongly dislike shavers with batteries, however, it is almost impossible to purchase one that does not contain them. If I purchase a F4790, can I ignore its internal battery and pretend that it does not exist? I want to use the F4790 in a 'corded only' mode, i.e., plugged into a 120Vac outlet using an old fashion power cord. If I purchace a F4790, can I take it out of the box when it arrives, immediately plug it into the wall, and have it function properly? And then, can I continue to use the F4790 in this same manner (i.e., corded only) until the day it completely fails, and never once have to think about, or be bothered with, its internal dc battery? Note: You make the R405 Rotory in corded only; why don't you make a Foil corded only? Thank you.

Answer:
The instruction manual for the F4970 shaver says that you should leave the shaver plugged in only while charging. I sometimes find that immediately after fully charging, my razor body is warm-to-hot
to the touch for a short time. I would never leave the house while charging or charge it overnight for this reason, much less leave it plugged in continually. And no, you cannot use it immediately upon receipt without first charging. This too is explained in your manual. There is a lot of info in the manual and it took me 4 or 5 readings to get most of it straight, and I still refer to it constantly so please stick with it. Good luck. DON6019

Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, this shaver can be used as a corded model with each use. Currently, there is not a customer demand for corded foil shavers. We will be happy to forward your suggestion on. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Reason I ask is there is about a $20 difference in price. The "G" is much more expensive. Also, do they take the same parts?
