All, you guys are in need of some incite into this revolutionary new design. It is filterless TADA! Thats the beauty of it! Less maintenance, it's not a car that requires filtered air for the combustion chamber gentleman. Also, the shaver shuts off just fine, it just takes 6-8 hours for the drying process to complete. How it works is, the cleaning solution is lifted to completely submerge the foil and blades, then it is slowly lowered removing your stubble along with some dead skin, then the fan comes on drawing the remaining stubble and skin back in the cleaner hence the reason for changing the cleaner so often. All you other masterminds out there who are worried about consuming too much electricity or god forbid if something runs longer then a hair dryer. Your cost basis goes up yes $5.00 a month running it every other shave. But if your buying a cleaning system shaver your already jacking up your cost basis, hello. This is my first electric shaver that I've decided to use everyday, and it took about four months for my face to get used to it. But now it takes me 2 to 3 mins to bang out a sweet shave. It's a clean look. I must say I was doubful upon initial purchase, of it's ability to shave my face. But I gave it a solid effort and it's finaly paying off. Funny how that time and effort, and elbow grease is everything at the begining. But working hard does pay off, grandpa was right you just need to stick it out. DJG411

I have been an electric shaver user for forty years. Until 2006, the brand was Norelco. I bought a Braun, on sale at Walmart. It did such a bad job I trashed it even without taking it back to the store. Then I used a Panasonic until December 2011 when my wife bought me this model of Remington. I kept it for a month, dedicated to learning how to make it give me a clean shave, but I just couldn't make it work; single whiskers everywhere, shaving the same areas over and over, then, after all, turning on the trimmer to pick up the missed hair. I hated it!! Finally I took it back to the store, got a refund, and looked at online reviews. I bought a new Norelco for half the price. It is quiet, shaves close and even very quickly, and came with a replacement set of heads.
Where the Remington came in a big box with a trimmer and optional heads ( about $20 at Walgreens) and a washer contraption that I couldn't ever imagine using, the price was very high for what was in the box: the worst factor was that it was a very poor shaver. I wouldn't buy one of these again, or wish it on my worst enemy. JUNK!.

I bought this unit at Kohls this weekend... First, it doesn't come with the filter as advertised... I've also seen this posted on blogs all over the web... I had to go back to Kohls and buy a cleaning solutions kit $5, in order to get the cleaning filter... Not I get it home and try to clean my shaver, and the shaver head doesn't even fit properly into the cleaning cradle... Finally, it's suppose to have a fan come on after the cleaning cycle, to fry the shaver head... Well guess what, that doesn't work either... The only good thing I can say, is that the shave does shave well but the cleaning system is a dud...

No, I do not recommend this product.

questions about set up and cleaning system

I just reveived this product as a gift for my birthday but it is a bit different the model I got is the •Model no. F-7790CSPGA it was purchased from Kohls, it came with the 6 in 1 grooming system as well. When I was setting it up and getting everything out of the box it seemed to me like I was missing a piece. It said on the instructions that the cleaning system comes with a filter is that true? When I was setting it up it says it comes with the lower base housing (part e in the instruction manual) which includes the charging dock (f), the trap door(c), the solution cup (d) and the upper base housing (a) which includes the on button (b) It also came with the bottle of power clean solution. The part I am missing is Part h the filter. When I was setting the cleaning system up it does not give any detail as to how to set up the trap door into the solution cup. Does the trap door flaps need to be so the can opened into the solution? In the directions it does not say which way it is supposed to go on I just figure this was the most logical way to put it on so that when you put the shaver into the station the flaps will open up into the solution thus cleaning the foils of the shaver.
Is the filter a mandatory part? I do not want to return it if it does not have a essential purpose to the cleaning system running correctly. After I set up the system and added the fluid I ran a cycle by pressing the on button and I did not see much going on. What exactly does the cleaning system do??? I know it runs for approx 4 minutes or so but I did not notice it doing much in the terms of cleaning. I have been searching for two days on the internet now looking for a how to video to show the correct instructions on how to set it up. Can someone provide me with a link to show me how to set it up correctly i.e which way the trap door goes in etc. Any information you can give me would be great. Thank you very much I am very excited to try out this shaver!!

CLEANING SYSTEM FOR FOIL RAZOR

Good evening to whom it may concern, my foil razor cleaning system that I received as a gift has broken. I received the gift that was purchased from Kohls last year for Christmas. The cleaning system has a small bowel that you place your razor in. There is a small plastic piece with springs on both sides to allow the razor head to be installed for cleaning. I accidentally broke the little ring and need to replace it. I cannot find a replacement part without purchasing a whole new system. Is there a way I can purchase this piece so I can keep cleaning my razor?

Answer:

You may be up a creek without a paddle? But make sure the door always opens towards the solution. Also, try cleaning it anyways. The doors main purpose is too prevent evaporation, I don't believe they offer any cleaning benefit. I could be wrong? But I'm feeling pretty confident on this one:)

Note: Read all instructions carefully.

1. Carefully, lift the top of your cleaning system off of the docking station.
2. You will see a white but transluscent pair of spring loaded doors that are mounted to a ringlike frame. While carefully examining the doors and frame, after all it is your first time with the new system. Take the time to notice the perpendicular line through the middle of the doors. At both ends of the line you will notice @ six oclock a small key'd notch, and at 12 oclock a small piece of plastic we'll call this the handle. Take your index finger and thumb and grasp the handle and remove the doors.
3. Now your looking at the cup you will fill with the cleaning solution, carefully remove the cup paying close attention because you'll need to put it back. Examine the cup, notice at the top of the cup there are two lines a full line and add line the line closest to the rim is the full line. I fill the solution right in the middle of the two lines. Now reinstall the cup the same way you removed it. Fill the cup with cleaning solution. Reinstall the spring loaded door ring frame assembly. Reinstall top of cleaning system now your ready to go, For about two weeks when it needs to be changed you may need to add cleaner periodically so do monitor the cleaning solution level.
4. Install shaver, head first into the cleaning system dock. Push silver/gray button the cleaning process begins, and takes several hours to complete. The drying process takes the longest just hang in there it will finish. Hope this procedure helps all of you.

Great answer slick "staff" way to completely not answer the question..
Ok here goes.
1. put 4 oz of cleaning fluid in to system. cleaning solution is good for about 14 days ( you might have to add a little every 3 or 4 days)
2. ensure the pop up trimmer is in the down postion
3. place the shaver head down in the opening on the top of the cleaning base making sure the ledge on the inside of the cleaning base opening is aligned with the trimmer to position the shave in the correct orientation for cleaning
4. press the on button to start the cleainging cycle. The cleaning cycle will run for approximately 4 min. during this trime do not remove the shaver from the base.
5. when the cleaning cycle has completed, a fan will turn on to assist in drying the shaver. when the fan turns off ( in 4 hours) the process is complete..

NOTE. if you use the shaver and dont clean it every day you might have to turn on the shaver for 60 seconds during the cleaning cycle....
