Decent shaver...doesn't cut as close as I thought it would, but it is certainly quicker to use compared to regular trimmers/clippers.

I love this device for its worry-free, waiting-free haircuts. In less time than it would take me to get seated in a barber's chair, I can be done with a haircut. It lets me get that freshly groomed look any time I want it. Because it replaces barber cuts, this device could be a lot more expensive and still attractive and affordable to me.
On the downside: The battery is feeble. I have had my device for over two years and it's still working, although the blue LED charge indicator broke after two months. The most serious battery shortcoming for me, apart from needing to charge it overnight before each use, is poor low temperature performance. I heat my house to 45 degrees in winter, and this battery won't work below about 62 unless I warm it up by wearing it in my pants for a few hours. Charge it, incubate it, then use it. This puts a crimp in spontaneity of use. I'd rather have a corded model than deal with this.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I love this product little slippery and dropping it from six foot is not a death wish so it is durable. But after six or seven times it does have a toll. On my second one and have gotten others hooked with no issues other than the battery, which may be the toll of dropping it so much.
Just ordered a new one and have not paid for a hair cut for years and I love it.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Well in spite of the poor reviews i had read, I bought this trimmer. It looked like the product that I was looking for. I could not imagine Remington making a product that was so poor. I have used Remington products for many years. In less than four months this trimmer has lived up to the reviews that gave it a very poor rating. I have followed all the recommendations made for proper use and care. It is dead. It will not turn on, it will not charge. Like a dead bug it just lies there. I great concept. A very poor product.........

Hair length settings are 1, 1.5, 2, 3 & 4. Much faster and easier than the standard clipper. However I also use the standard clipper for finishing touches after cutting with the curved clipper.

Has the battery recharging issue been resolved in this product?

I purchased a Shortcut a couple years ago and it is a great grooming tool; however, since the very beginning I have eperienced problems recharging the battery. It takes an inordinate amount of time to recharge (12 hrs plus) and the charge lasts less than one or two minutes when the item is used. To continue, one must recharge for another 30 seconds to get about as much time in use. After researching this problem online I found out it is very common, yet it has not been addressed by Remington. I truly like the trimmer and would like to purhcase another one, but only if I can be assured that this obvious problem has been resolved. Would you advice?

I bought this unit directly from the company last month and only used the clipper a couple of times.. the charge did last more than one cut but suddenly the unit stopped charging. I thought maybe it's the charger so tried a universal charger that I have and still won't work... Great clipper but I don't think the charging issue is resolved.. Going to contact their warranty department. Really disappointed about that.

AU,
i just purchased my third trimmer. my first one i've had for 5 years and it will still work if i hold the power button half way in. kinda like if you hold a light switch in the middle so that the light dims. but it takes about 50 trys to get it to power on.
i got a new one last Christmas and it worked once and now won't even take a charge. i'm hoping the third one is the charm. i wish they would fix the problem and put this trimmer back on the shelves i would use it the rest of my life. beats going to great clips!

Removed blade guard, cannot get it back in

I removed the blade guard on the Remington Shortcut in order to clean inside, however, I have not been able to get the guide to seat properly when I try to reinstall it. Is there a trick to this?

Yes there is a trick to it, I had a bit of a struggle myself putting mine back together. I don't remember the details but it had to do with the blade position I think it has to be out all the way and then snap the cover in then retract. Sorry that is as much help as I can be.

Why does my clipper keep shutting off? I tap it, it starts then quits again after a few seconds.

Is something loose inside: I don't hear anything. It's a SCC-100R rechargeable and I've had it a cou[ple of years.

SCC-100R battery replacement instructions

The battery performance of this product has the largest number of the customer complains. My trimmer was continuously deteriorating (less and less charging capacity) and died completely within 30 months of usage (used only 8-10 times). Can't you at least provide an access and instructions to replace the battery instead of losing the customers and receiving unsatisfactory reviews just due to the battery problem?
