SPF300_stepB Step 2: Grasp each cutter between thumb and forefinger and pull upward.

Replacement Blades getting too expensive Remington razor is average compared to other brands, but it is less expensive. Where they get you is when you have to order replacement blades and usually the blades only last me 3 months before I have to replace them. Sometimes it is cheaper to buy a whole new razor than just the blades. July 10, 2014
Remmington Products Products are great but why are they so hard to buy? Used to be you could buy parts at the stores. But now you can only buy them on line, it cost more and takes longer to get! July 10, 2014
SPF-300 The product is excellent! it worth the price. and is durable. July 10, 2014
I am pleased with my shaver I have used Remington shavers for many years with varying degrees of satisfaction - mostly good. My present one holds a charge for almost two weeks, and the cutter comb lasts for four or five months. It is the best shaver I have ever had. July 8, 2014
This product is performing well. This item was easy to order, quickly shipped and received in good working condition. July 8, 2014
Fair shave at fair price While this shaver does not cut as close as the older models did it is still one of the best for me for now. The screen does not last as long before it wears thru and the cutters work on your face also. Replacement parts can not be found easily in stores so need to order online. The products seem to be made cheaper (but not less expensive) all the time. July 8, 2014
Remington blade and screen The items were installed about 2 weeks ago. They do no seem to shave as closely as those that came with the shaver, so shaving takes longer. July 6, 2014
Great product They are even better than the original that came with the shaver. July 5, 2014

I just purchased the F4900 and I was curious if I just have to pull the blades out of the razor in order to replace them. I don't want to break anything so I didn't try to remove them.

Answer:
You can just pull the blades out and replace them with the SPF-300 blades. You won't hurt anything. SPF-300 comes with the two blades and a new head. Problem is, the replacement blades don't seem to work nearly as well as the blades that come with the razor.

Answer:
Pop off the head. Use the cleaning brush and brush out blades, hair pocket and head. NEVER EVER touch or brush the screen itself with the brush. Re-assemble the razor. Obtain and carefully aim Remington Shaver Saver spray can into the razor head with one hand, and switch on razor with the other. Briefly spray the Lubricant spray into the head with shaver running and turn off razor. Gently dab away excess lube from outside of head with a soft tissue. All done.

I have purchased via Target a special Remington model 5800 that utilises diamond-like-carbon (DLC) coating on the foils to extend their life, as otherwise they can wear out too fast. Called the "Black Diamond" foil razor, and I love it. Yet on your website the only SPF-300 replacements do not yet use this feature. Is a Black Diamond SPF-300DLC foil head assembly ever going on sale? I see you are selling the rotary razor DLC replacement head of this product, but not the foil type yet.

Answer:
Target sent me a spare SP-300DS diamond like coated head, but it is more expensive than the stainless steel at $30 each, whereas with auto order on this website you pay under $25 and get free postage. So if as you tell me it lasts no longer, I will be disappointed. Time will tell though. In the meantime, awesome shaver BTW.

Answer:
Thank you for your inquiry. We do not offer the replacement heads with the diamond coating. The coating does not extend their life expectancy, which is approximately 6 months on all foil shavers. This time frame depends on the coarseness of the beard, how often the consumer shaves, and the pressure that is applies during shaving.

other brand foils tear up quickly but only cost $7-8 plus a new cutting head once a year. your replacement kit is $24.95. this is not economically feasible if your foil tears up every 2or3 months. please respond.

Answer:
Thank you for your message. The replacement screens and cutters need to be replaced on an average of every 4-6 months. This time frame depends on the coarseness of the beard, how often the consumer shaves, and the pressure that is applies during shaving. The screens and cutters are not covered under the warranty and need to be replaced when they wear out.

Went to clean razor. Followed instructions and pieces exploded out when I removed the assembly. Now having trouble getting pieces back together. Center cutter won't snap in place. Love the razor otherwise. Great shave!
