Rated 4 out of 5 by from Please with Replacement Screen and Cutters I was disappointed that you cannot purchase these at the store where I purchased my shaver, but ordering online was easy and the auto-ship (on my scheduled terms) is very convenient. I receive a new kit every 6 months. The cutters hold up very well - I just shave my cheeks and neck - but the screens do wear thin and I usually crack it when it gets bumped or dropped. The cutters and screen are easy to replace. Enhancements suggested: Include a new plastic cover, the one that snaps onto the shaver to protect the screen. Mine does not want to stay on anymore.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product, over priced shipping Your replacement screens and cutters for my electric razor definitely make a positive difference in how well the razor performs (shaves). What bothered me was the high price you charged for shipping the small, light weight parts. One of the main reasons I bought this razor just after the first of the year, 2013, was that it''s purchase price from Walgreens was less than the cost of a replacement comb and cutter, plus your expensive shipping, for my old Remington electric razor. This seems like a funny way to run a railroad, but does sell more of your razors.

I hav used it for approximately 18 months before having to have a replacement head, so not being ab le to find one in any store in my area I went to my trusty computer and did a search on your web site and when I entered the model number the response came back that they did not find that number. I continued to search for info and found a place for questions and when I ask where I could find the item I needed it came back that I needed the SP-290 which I ordered and recieved. My question is why did the website tell me that it did not have that model? If I took that infomation I would have been out of luck. Thanks for the replacement and I will continue to use Remington prodiucts. JS in Tennessee

Rated 2 out of 5 by from New style foil carrier assembly (screen) won't stay on razor The new style foil carrier assembly with reduced plastic where the razor body latches to it will not stay in place on the razor body when shaving. If you saved the old style or the original foil carrier, removing the foils from new style carrier and inserting them in the original style carrier and it will stay in place on the razor body when in use. I have used this razor with the replacements using old style foil carriers of the SP-290 for over a year without problems, but the new style foil carrier will not stay latched when the razor is in operation.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Convenient I find my Remington shaver very convenient; comes with its own bag and brush to clean the blades and recharge cord. I wish it took less that 16 hours to recharge, but it is what it is. My only complaint is that the plastic sides (l & r) are a tab higher than the screen. Consequently, when I press down to shave, I can feel the plastic edges/sides on my face instead of just the screen. This presents a comfort problem. I wish the screen were higher than the l & r edges of the part that holds the screen. This would make for a much smoother shave. Thank you!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from plus for the product. delta for replacement foils & blades. This is my third Remington flex foil razor, absolutes love the product. Close shave, reliable, long life. Replace foils and blades are another matter. Either in the store or purchased on line, have had blade fins broke/bent or foil creased and have to return for replacement. Same with my last order, foil is creased. See attached photo. Tried running it, hoping crease would work it's self out but no joy. creased side of foil doesn't cut and I suspect the uneven contact will cause uneven wear of the foil and early failure. Seems to be a packaging issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replacement SP-290: Screens and Cutters for the Remington Shavers F-4790 and F-3900 I have a Pivot Flex Foil Shaver F4790 that I like real well and our local Wal-Mart does not carry the screen and cutters for it, so I came to and signed up for them to be shipped every 6 months, When I get them I just change them out and on with a continued good shave. I recommend you to do the same. You are getting the real deal when you order from Remington. I also recommend using Shaver Saver Cleaning Lubricant for the razor cutter and screen. And Face Saver Pre Shave Powder Stick that is good stuff for you’re for your face.

Luckily I kept the Remington use and care pamphlet I went with the Remington Web link and found what I needed using the Remington product link.and ordered with the How to Order Accessories information,replacement parts. I am extremely satisfied with the service and ease of placing my order. I would use this option again if I can not find the replacement in the future. rRspects

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Shaving is getting old. Your Remington shaver does good job for me.However, the Flex Replacement Head I feel do not last as long as they use to. Of course this my opinion. Two replacement heads last a year of shaving. The last five years I have grown a beard during the winter so I do not have shave. I have a heavy beard, meaning I could shave twice a day. I guess I could go back to using a razor like dad used. The Remington is good shaver,but replacement heads could be better. The price of the replacement heads I feel is high. In my case 50 dollars a year.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Lousy Shaver I have owned and used Remingtion shavers exclusively for over 60 years. And this one is by far the worst of the bunch. The tilting head is of no value whatever, and the screens appear to wear out faster than any other Remington shaver I have used. And the clipper on the back hardly works at all. I have to use my nose clipper to clip my side burns. I only bought this shaver because, although my old shaver still worked really well, the hair pocket broke and you have discontinued selling it, which I consider is very short sighted.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The plus and minus of owning a Remington F-4790 Pluses: I like the corded option because many shavers are only battery operated. The unit is light weight and gives a close shave. The price of the shaver is reasonable. Minuses: The shaver is a little noisy and I wish the unit could be made a little smaller. Finally, the shavers are not generally available in retail stores nor are the combs and cutters. I purchased the shavers (I have two of them) at Walgreens but they do not carry replacement parts. I purchase combs and cutters through the Remington on-line services.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Remington Shavers The replacement screens and cutter work fine. though a little pricey. These shavers really need a protective cap that "stays on" to protect the screens. The current cap design and its poor function, along with the cost to replace subsequently damaged screens is enough for me to consider an alternate shaver at my next purchase. Also, I could not even find a replacement cap on your wed page. I am satisfied with the shaver and my comments are only meant to address an item that would improve the quality of this product. Jim

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pieces should be sold separately I have no complaint with the product; I have been buying this type of Remington shaver for years, and I have always gotten a closer shave than the rotary models. But...the screens wear out much sooner than the blades (usually last half as long) and I have been unable to buy the screens separately anymore. They used to be readily available at Walmart and most drugstores, but now the only way t buy them is together, and it gets expensive. I may change shaver make soon to get one with easier to obtain replacement parts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm so pleased. I recently prchased the SP-290 Screens & Cutters for my Remington Shaver. I'm so pleased with my purchase. I wish I had bought it earlier. I didin't realize how much the quality had deteriorated. I'd been using the old ones for more than 2 years and now it's like I have a brand new shaver. It shaves so much closer, so much easier. I'm sure this is how it was when I first bought the shaver and didn't realize how much it had worn. I thought I was still getting a pretty good shave with it, but now it is so much better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replacement screen success When my razor's screen developed a hole and merited replacement, I could not find any retail store carrying replacement parts such as I had in the past. I was able to quickly get the part identified, ordered and shipped to me via standard shipping; and it was not a problem to install. Of course this part extends the life of the unit and extends its value; the only regret is that replacement parts were not available at major stores. Competing brands still carried their replacement parts in many of these same stores.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Product features and falts I have been using this product (PS-290) for several years. The rocking head that follows the conture of the face is very good. The charge that lasts about 2 weeks is great. It also charges quickly and will opperate on the charger even when the battery has completely run down. However, I feel that the life of the screens is rather short. I have had to replace the heads at least 4 times because of a worn through hole. Another complaint is that of missed wiskers, but using the neat trimmer does work well on them.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nothing "special" here. Remington F-4790 This shaver and it's cutters are 'run-of-the-mill' products that provide nothing more than a modestly acceptable shave. I purchased another Remington shaver this time because the one I'd been using for ten years(a much earlier model) provided an excellent shave and lasted a long time. I wish I had it back, as this new one is not nearly as well made and provides nothing more than a mediocre performance. Sorry, folks, but I cannot recommend this shaver, especially at it's price point.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A Very Disappointing Product I bought this razor several years ago and found that it did not shave my beard very close, certainly not anywhere near what my previous razor did. So I put it away until recently when I tried it again. The screen then broke and I ordered a new one with cutters, and the first item sent could not be attached so I called and received an exchange. This one hasn't worked well either, so I am going back to my old electric razor which has shaved me well for 10+ years. No more Remington products for me!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Because I like the shaver It's worth replacing the components of this shaver because it's a good one: holds a charge, can be cleaned with tap water, great beard trimmer, and gentle so I can use it on my tween son's face. It's been pretty hardy when packed on trips and banged around a little, and it doesn't pinch when shaving. I've gone through a *lot* of electric shavers and this one seems to be lasting. The replacement parts were completely easy to install and not fragile, so it's a no-brainer to keep the thing going.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good value for the price While the overall rating is very satisfying, the foil wore out pre-maturely and the broken edges are sharp! Had to use a blade while searching for a local source for the replacement foil and cutter head. Had to go on line to Remington because I could NOT find replacement parts at any of the retailers in my vicinity. Accordingly, had to pay for S & H, which drove the price up about $10 over the retail price. That's more than I care to pay. I'd rather shop local and save the S&H costs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I like the finish when done shaving. By the way, I used my wife's credit card. I am the husband. :) I've had two of these shavers. The first one just worn out! That's a good sign I suppose? I shave daily and used that shaver for several years. Then it finally gave out when replacing the blades. Now I have this shaver and it has a bit longer battery life so I don't have to recharge as often as the first one. This is a good product for me and I don't plan on trying any other competitor in the future. I suppose you will have a newer shaver on the market when this one wears out too?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One More Time: Having purchased several Remington Shavers in my lifetime I have particularly enjoyed this model. It is comfortable to use and does a great job at what it is designed to do. It's shape makes it easy to hold and move over the facial area allowing for an excellent shave. I also find that it keeps a charge for a very reasonable time, and recharges also in a very reasonable time. I have had this shaver for two years and am as happy with it now as I was when I first purchased it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Close shave The performance of the SP-290 and the shavers they fit is outstanding. Consistently the closest shave I've ever had with an electric razor. The foil is easily damaged, frequently requiring replacement before it's time. Past experience tells me the durability is likely to improve as I get used to the razor and it's quirks. The fit of the protective cap for the razor head is a problem - I own two of these razors and while the cap on one is so loose it frequently falls off, the other fits so tightly that it's almost impossible to remove the cap without removing the screens, too. Would also like to see the screens available in stores, for now I've only been able to order off the Remington web site. Congrats on the manufacturing technology required to produce a high performance product like this at a reasonable cost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shaver headset that's economical, too This is my 4th headset for my Remington F-4790 shaver. The shaver is durable and easy to use and the headset/replacement screens are easy to install and very economical. I replace them once every 9 months or so and really it's at just the right time since the blades - any electric shaver blades - do get dull over time. These are sharp and work very well and at Remington accessories they're also very economical. Recommend this site and this product highly!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Its solid This is only my second time using a razor with this type of blade, and my first time going through the replacement procedure (thought I'd have to go through AMAZON?#, but once I got the thing installed its been fine in the sense that I know I can go head to head with anyone else with smooth skin. I wouldn't recommend it if you've Let Your Whiskers out on the weekend #I use a Bic Razor and shaving cream on Mondays) but other than that its been good to me.

The life of the battery power is better than any I have previously owned and the life of the screen and cutters also best ever. I am also very pleased with the replacement service on line and in the mail. It is often so difficult to find replacements in the stores that sell the razor originally. Remington has been a savior to me over many years of service and excellent shaving needs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Remington products are excellent! I have had Remington shavers for the last 40+ years. Their quality and reliability is remarkable. "Customer service" has always been helpful and responsive. I would usually buy a new one when I wanted an upgrade or newer model, not because it broke down. The old shaver would then simply become my travel shaver. The screen and blades are the only parts that need replacing when they wear out. That happens in all shavers. I recommend Remington products!
